L'aumento da Inferno e L'aumento al Paradiso
The Rise from Hell and The Rise to Paradise
'Even as he is who seeth in a dream,
And after dreaming the imprinted passion
Remains, and to his mind the rest returns not,
Even such am I, for almost utterly
Ceases my vision, and distilleth yet
Within my heart the sweetness born of it;'
-Il Paradiso, Canto XXXIII
A Tribute to Dante Alighieri.

HEART of Fire
Oils & metallic ink on very tall (unknown) canvas
This love is like a forest fire in the moss, once sweeping though, it never really leaves, it just burns quietly underground, unable to be extinguished but somehow searching for a way back up for air.

Lament
Oils on 26'' x 5'4'' canvas
Here are 2 works in progress from my new collection. They show vivid and colorful, and/still sated with Lament. It's the colors and their supportive strands that lay the groundwork for the many ways you can interpret what they mean.

Blue Thoughts in the Dead Grass - Part I

Oils, adhesive and various dead grasses on 24'' x 30'' stretched canvas.
This is a photo of what it looks like during the drying process, my next post will be tomorrow after the adhesive, oil and paint have dried together around the grasses, leaving a hardened spiral of tralucent, color and organic wire.

Prima Ballerina Assoluta
Oils on 36'' x 36'' stretched canvas.Untitled so far, but I am sure it will come to me once she is finished. It could be a dancer, and the white silk or light is swirling around her. Updates will follow.

Prima Ballerina Assoluta. Definition:
The title or rank of prima ballerina assoluta was originally inspired by the Italian ballet masters of the early Romantic Ballet and was bestowed on a ballerina who was considered to be exceptionally talented, above the standard of other leading ballerinas. The title is very rarely used today and recent uses have typically been symbolic, in recognition of a notable career and as a result, it is commonly viewed as an honour rather than an active rank.

Coming Soon

I am sorry for waiting so long to keep posting, I guess I have been moving around a lot and it`s hard to setup and find a moment to focus. Next week I will have a semi-permanent studio with nothing but free time to dedicate to painting. No distractions clouding the way I think, nothing to take up my time but cleansing meditation, movements and discipline.

A Shroud of Something.
Oil on Canvases both 26'' x 5'4''.
With glass shards texture.
I started on a memory and the painting became almost intimidatingto me, because it seemed such high a standard that I set for myself. With one brush stroke it started its transformation from what was a morning in the city, to this. I am not sure what it will become and I am definately not finished, but so I include all paintings in this blog (including cover-ups), I will show this now before it becomes something else entirely.

Residence on Earth.
Oil on 30'' x 24''
Of the dusty glances fallen to the ground
or of soundless leaves burying themselves.
Of metal without light, with the emptiness,
with the absence of the suddenly dead day.
At the tip of the hands the dazzlement of butterflies,
the upflight of butterflies whos light has no end.
You kept the trail of light, of broken beings
that the abandoned sun, sinking casts at the churches.
Stained with glances, dealing with bees,
your substance fleeing from unexpected flame
precedes and follows the day and its family of gold.
The spying days cross in secret
but they fall within your voice of light
Oh my love, in your rest
I establish my dream, my silent attitude.
With your body of timid number, suddenly extended
to the quantities that define earth,
behind the struggle of the days white with space
and cold with slow deaths and withered stimuli,
I feel your lap burn and your kisses travel
shaping fresh swallows in my sleep.
At times the destiny of your tears ascends
like age to my forehead, there
the waves are crashing, smashing themselves to death;
their movement is moist, drifting, ultimate.

More or Less.
Oil on 53'' x 26'' canvas.This could be: More - Environmental Edition.
Well I chose an evening setting for this one since I was playing with a certain strong forward light for the outward shading and the camera's flash seemed to play on that perfectly.
They are holding themselves out for more. It's open for interpretation what possibly they could want more of.
Once again, Goodnight.

More needs More.
Oil on 53'' x 26'' canvas.
As for my final post of the night, This is what I have been working on over the past few days, I can show an updated proper photo when it's finished. It's asking for more, literally.
Goodnight.
Stay.
Chiaroscuro is the word. There's more to come. It's very film noir, it's very dark and in this case it's very sexy.
Hands.
Remodeling Style on Day 2.
This funny little number became a bird's eye by surprise, and halted all further brush strokes. If it works, even strangely, it still works.
Like I have said before, I will be posting every painting that I do whether it becomes something different entirely or not. This will show you and I the evolution of my skill. Humility is an essential trait in this case. Below is the crudest painting That I have ever seen, let alone created.
Voila!
THE PASSION BEGINS.
